Abstract

This study examines the preservation and promotion of traditional ornamental tree craft villages in the Northern Delta, a distinctive ecological and cultural heritage of wet-rice communities. Using field surveys, sociological investigation, and comparative analysis in Vi Khe, Phung Cong–Xuan Quan, and Nghi Tam–Nhat Tan, the study evaluates the economic, cultural, ecological, and social values of ornamental tree art. The findings show that these villages contribute to rural economic restructuring and higher incomes but face shrinking agricultural land, declining indigenous tree genetic resources, workforce discontinuity, and limited online commercialization. The article proposes five solutions: conserving craft village spaces, applying biotechnology and digital transformation, developing experiential ecotourism, training skilled workers, and building collective brands associated with geographical indications. Promoting these villages is essential to sustainable ecological development and advanced rural development.
