Abstract

This article analyzes the historical context that led to the establishment of the strategic maritime transport route, clarifies the Central Party Committee’s policy on opening this sea transport line, and examines the process of its formation in Ca Mau in 1961. The findings show that the emergence of the Ho Chi Minh Sea Trail in Ca Mau was the result of a combination of urgent demands from the Southern battlefield, the Party’s strategic vision, the favorable geographical and natural conditions of the locality, and the active participation of the armed forces and people of Ca Mau. This strategic transport route played a crucial role in ensuring supplies for the Southern battlefield during the resistance war against the United States for national salvation.
