Abstract
Older persons are a group that receives particular attention within the State’s social security system, including the provision of basic social services, especially housing. However, in practice, the relevant regulations still reveal certain limitations, which calls for further research and reference to international experience. Singapore is often regarded as a notable model for public housing policy integrated with the strategy of ageing in place. On that basis, this article outlines the current policy and legal framework governing housing for older persons in Vietnam and draws on Singapore’s experience to suggest directions for improving the legal framework in response to ongoing population ageing in the coming period.
