Abstract

The article presents important concepts and propositions in the study of classical poetry of China and Japan, introduces the basic characteristics of classical poetry of the two countries, emphasizes the mutual influence in Chinese and Japanese literature, finds common characteristics in the theoretical thinking aspect of these two poetic traditions. Thereby, the article also finds essential issues in the study of poetics such as the relationship between poetry and emotion, poetry and nature, and suggests an intercultural approach in the study of comparative literature.
