Abstract
Promoting traditional cultural heritage has become increasingly important amid global digital transformation. This article examines theoretical perspectives and international research trends concerning the role of digital transformation in cultural heritage. By systematizing major theoretical models, it demonstrates that digital transformation is driving a shift from static preservation toward the dynamic promotion of heritage values, expanding public access, and creating new forms of cultural expression. Digital technologies also contribute to communicating heritage values, strengthening traditional cultural identity, and supporting heritage education. However, this process raises challenges related to cultural authenticity, unequal access to technology, and ethical issues in digital environments. The article therefore offers several implications for Vietnam, emphasizing the need to balance technological innovation with the preservation and promotion of heritage values and national cultural identity.
