Abstract

Green tourism development is an inevitable trend in achieving the green growth and sustainable development objectives of Vietnam’s tourism sector. In the context of climate change, natural resource depletion, and increasing pressure to fulfil international environmental commitments, improving the legal framework for green tourism is particularly important. Employing legal analysis, comparison, synthesis, and interdisciplinary research, this article outlines the theoretical foundations of green tourism and assesses the current legal framework governing this field in Vietnam. It also identifies shortcomings in regulations concerning land use, tourism real estate business, environmental protection, and investment incentives for green tourism activities. Based on these findings, the article proposes several measures to improve the legal framework and promote the sustainable development of green tourism in Vietnam.
