Abstract
The Truong Lam communal temple festival is a community cultural practice associated with the historical site, the worship of the tutelary deity, and local historical memories. In the context of urbanization, the festival simultaneously maintains traditional values while undergoing changes in space, time, rituals, performances, and organizational methods. This article analyzes the cultural values, the changes and their causes, and proposes solutions for preserving and promoting the festival's value. The results show that change does not equate to decline but reflects the community's ability to adapt and recreate traditions. Therefore, dynamic preservation is necessary, linking the protection of core values with promoting the community's role as the main actors, passing them on to the younger generation, and controlling any manifestations that diminish the festival's identity.
