Abstract
This article examines the theoretical foundations and role of fostering university students’ sense of responsibility for national defense through the National Defense and Security Education course. By analyzing the concepts, roles, and content of responsibility education in the current context, the article emphasizes the need to reform the teaching of this course by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience and focusing on developing students’ awareness, attitudes, and responsible behaviors. These efforts can enhance the effectiveness of national defense and security education and contribute to developing a generation of students with political steadfastness, civic awareness, and a strong sense of responsibility for national construction and defense.
