Abstract

In the documents of the 14th National Party Congress, steadfast adherence to the Party’s ideological foundation and the goals of national independence and socialism is closely linked to the need to renew thinking, review practical experience, and creatively develop theory. Based on an examination of these documents, the article highlights three principal aspects: advancing the understanding of Vietnam’s socialist model; promoting the people’s role as active agents and their central position; and identifying and harnessing new drivers of development. Among these drivers, institutions, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and social resources have assumed increasingly prominent roles. The article argues that the creative development of Marxism–Leninism must be grounded in Vietnam’s practical conditions and maintain unity between adherence to fundamental principles and the renewal of thinking, thereby strengthening the Party’s ideological foundation and providing a theoretical basis for national development in the new era.
