Abstract

The Eastern Front played a crucial strategic role in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, tasked with capturing the highest power institutions of the Saigon regime. As a result, the 2nd Corps had the honor of raising the victory flag over the Independence Palace, marking the complete victory of the campaign and the ultimate triumph of the resistance war against the United States. The Eastern Front fulfilled its historic mission, playing a vital role in the liberation of the South and the reunification of Vietnam, ending decades of division and bringing the country together as one.
