Abstract

The competency of teaching reading comprehension in Vietnamese is a key component of professional teaching skills for primary school teachers. This competency should be developed during students' university training and further enhanced throughout their teaching careers. Based on both theoretical foundations and practical considerations, this article clarifi es the concept of teaching reading comprehension competency and proposes a structural model for Primary Education students. The model serves as a basis for further research and training aimed at improving this essential teaching skill.
