Abstract

The circular economy is a sustainable development strategy and an inevitable trend for countries worldwide, including Vietnam. However, this concept remains relatively new in Vietnam, and the legal and policy framework for developing a circular economy is still limited. Meanwhile, in developed countries such as Japan, legislation on the circular economy is relatively comprehensive. This article provides an overview of the circular economy model in Japan and its practical experience as a basis for drawing policy implications for improving Vietnam’s legal and policy framework.
