Abstract
This article presents practical approaches to enhancing English writing instruction for cadets at People’s Police College I through the effective use of the Life A1–A2 coursebook. Writing plays an important role in developing learners’ thinking and language knowledge. However, cadets continue to face difficulties arising from limited vocabulary, reliance on word-for-word translation from their mother tongue, and a lack of confidence in using English. Based on an analysis of these challenges, the article proposes specific instructional measures to help cadets consolidate foundational knowledge while increasing their autonomy and confidence in writing practice. These practical approaches contribute to methodological innovation and improvements in the quality of foreign language education at People’s Police College I.
