Abstract
In the context of Vietnam’s comprehensive educational reform and the implementation of the 2018 General Education Curriculum, expectations for Vietnamese Language and Literature teachers are increasing. In addition to subject-matter knowledge, teachers must be able to design and organize learning activities, conduct assessment, apply digital technologies, and foster learners’ qualities and competencies. These requirements necessitate reforms aimed at improving the quality of Vietnamese Language and Literature teacher education in higher education institutions. This article examines the current state of the Vietnamese Language and Literature teacher education program at Hai Duong University, identifies emerging requirements, and proposes measures to improve its training quality.
