Abstract

Enhancing students’ self-study competence is a key objective in innovating teaching methods in higher education. Strengthening self-study helps students develop independent learning habits and skills, thereby directly contributing to improving the quality of university education and training. This article clarifies the role of self-study in higher education, examines the current status of self-study in the course Marxist–Leninist Philosophy among students at the Vietnam National University of Forestry, and identifies factors that influence students’ self-study in the course. In addition, the author proposes several solutions to enhance self-study competence for forestry students.
