Abstract

In the context of digital transformation, cultivating essential qualities among upper secondary school students presents both opportunities and challenges. This article examines the role of National Defense and Security Education in fostering patriotism and a sense of responsibility among students. Based on an analysis of current practices, the study emphasizes the need for substantial innovation in traditional teaching methods. It proposes several measures, including integrating digital technologies into instruction, creating interactive online learning environments, and strengthening students’ political steadfastness and responsible engagement in cyberspace. These innovations can make the subject more engaging while fostering awareness of national defense and creatively carrying forward the spirit of the statement, “The Hung Kings founded the nation; we must work together to defend it,” in a manner suited to the Ho Chi Minh era and the context of globalization.
