Abstract

Children’s education in ethnic minority families is an important component of Vietnam’s national strategy on gender equality. Women’s participation in educational decisions reflects not only their parental responsibilities but also their status, authority, and decision-making power within the family. However, ethnic minority women continue to face difficulties in making important or final decisions concerning their children’s education. These limitations affect their position in the household and reveal persistent gender inequalities in ethnic minority communities. The article highlights the need to strengthen women’s participation in family decision-making, improve their access to education and information, and promote greater gender equality in matters related to children’s learning and development.
