Abstract

Writing is an essential competence that supports primary school students’ learning, communication, and self- expression. However, many students still face difficulties in generating ideas, organizing content, and expressing thoughts effectively in writing. This study examines the development of writing skills through experiential learning activities associated with local culture. By engaging with local traditions, historical sites, occupations, and community life, students can enrich their experiences, expand vocabulary, improve sentence construction, and produce more coherent texts. The study also highlights the role of experiential learning in enhancing motivation, creativity, and attachment to local cultural identity. The findings suggest that integrating local cultural elements into writing instruction can improve students’ writing competence while contributing to the preservation and promotion of local cultural values.
