Abstract

This article focuses on proposing pedagogical measures and describing their implementation to improve the quality of teaching descriptive writing in primary schools. The authors systematize the fundamental theoretical foundations of descriptive prose, its characteristics, and the expected learning outcomes for fourth-grade students under the 2018 General Education Program. At the heart of this research is the proposal of core pedagogical strategies: utilizing a system of open-ended questions to stimulate thinking and cultivate idea-finding skills; applying literary materials to guide students in gathering and accumulating creative ideas; and employing visual aids to further train these skills. The expected research findings will not only help fourth-graders overcome difficulties in the pre-writing stage to produce coherent, imagery-rich descriptive essays but also contribute to innovating active teaching methodologies for educators today.
