Abstract
This study establishes a theoretical foundation for the use of textbooks and the implementation of question systems, particularly in teaching reading comprehension to high school students. The research investigates and analyzes the question system in the Grade 10 Literature textbook (the Connecting Knowledge to Life series) to examine the current use of reading comprehension questions by teachers and students at FPT PolySchool Da Nang. The findings indicate that the question system in the Grade 10 Literature textbook plays an important role; however, it has not been effectively utilized, which affects the development of students’ reading comprehension competence. Based on these findings, the study proposes three measures integrated into the reading instruction process to optimize the use of question systems in the Grade 10 Literature textbook. These measures aim to improve the effectiveness of reading comprehension instruction, enhance students’ reading competence, and better meet educational objectives at FPT PolySchool Da Nang.
