Abstract
The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly generative AI, has transformed the creation and exploitation of works while posing significant challenges to copyright law. Key issues include the copyright protection of AI-assisted works, determining the extent of AI involvement in the creative process, and allocating legal liability in cases of infringement or disputes. This article divides the lifecycle of AI-assisted works into three stages—input, generation, and output—to examine the legal issues arising at each stage. It further proposes a framework for allocating responsibility among relevant stakeholders based on their degree of control, level of initiative, and ability to foresee and manage legal risks.
Keywords: Copyright, artificial intelligence, AI-assisted works, legal liability, copyright infringement.
