Abstract

Drawing on a sociological survey of 150 households conducted in Hung Yen Province in May 2026, this article examines rural residents’ attitudes toward environmental protection within Vietnam’s Advanced New Rural Development Program. The findings indicate that residents generally hold positive attitudes toward environmental protection. Mean scores for environmental responsibility and commitment are high, with most respondents expressing willingness to participate in environmental protection activities and strong opposition to environmentally harmful practices. Based on these findings, the article proposes recommendations focusing on environmental communication, training, support for disadvantaged groups, stronger community participation, and improved environmental infrastructure to enhance the implementation of environmental criteria in the Advanced New Rural Development Program.
