Abstract

This paper aims to design a reading comprehension test for the end-of-course examination of General English 3 at Hoa Lu University, drawing on theoretical foundations of testing and assessment in general and reading comprehension in particular, and aligning with the current requirements of the course. The study is expected to provide both a theoretical basis and practical steps that teachers can follow to develop a test that meets specified standards. It also serves as a reference on assessment theory and offers a sample test for readers who are interested in reading-test design for end-of-course assessment.
