Abstract

Professional and pedagogical competencies constitute key determinants of teachers’ effectiveness, particularly in early childhood education. The competencies of preschool teachers encompass a range of component capacities, including professional development, the ability to design and maintain an effective educational environment, collaboration with families and the community, proficiency in foreign or ethnic minority languages, the application of information technology, and the demonstration of artistic abilities in nurturing, caregiving, and educational activities. The survey data presented in this article provide an initial overview of the current status of professional and pedagogical competencies among preschool teachers in selected kindergartens in southern Quang Tri Province. These findings offer a foundation for further research aimed at identifying underlying causes and proposing more comprehensive and in-depth solutions to enhance teacher competence in early childhood education.
