Abstract
Digital transformation is bringing profound changes to higher education, from the organization of teaching and the development of learning materials to the assessment of learning outcomes. In this context, online self- study has become an increasingly important mode of learning, particularly for university students. In political theory courses, online self-study provides new opportunities to broaden access to knowledge and promote learner autonomy. At the same time, it creates new requirements concerning learning methods, digital competence, the quality of educational resources, and instructors’ guidance. This article examines the current state of online self-study in political theory courses and proposes measures to improve its effectiveness in the context of digital transformation.
