Abstract
This paper presents the application of artificial intelligence in designing learning games to support the teaching of decimal numbers in grade 5, with an orientation toward developing students’ mathematical problem-solving competence. Based on the analysis of the topic content, students’ cognitive characteristics, and the current teaching situation, the study proposes the website “Decimal city - Adventures with robo comma”, consisting of five learning stations: decimal number concepts, decimal comparison, writing measurements in decimal form, rounding decimals, and integrated practice. Artificial intelligence is used to support task generation, hints, feedback, and learning process monitoring. Initial survey and pedagogical experiment results indicate that the game-based system is feasible, increases students’ learning interest, reduces typical errors, and supports the development of mathematical problem-solving competence among grade 5 students.
