Abstract
This article examines the theoretical foundations and directions for using artificial intelligence (AI) in game- based activities to promote language development among preschool children. Based on a review of the relevant literature, it clarifies the role of games in enhancing children’s interest, interaction, listening and speaking skills, vocabulary, and expressive abilities. It also identifies the potential of AI to support the design of learning materials, personalization of tasks, provision of feedback, and monitoring of children’s language development. The study proposes principles for using AI in ways that are developmentally appropriate, pedagogically purposeful, culturally relevant to Vietnam, digitally safe, and supportive of the teacher’s central role. It also suggests measures for designing and organizing AI-integrated games in early childhood education.
