Abstract

In the context of comprehensive educational reform, professional education for preservice teachers is crucial to improving the quality of the future teaching workforce. Beyond the formal curriculum, student affairs contributes to shaping professional ethics, attitudes, and pedagogical competencies. This study examines the role and current implementation of student-affairs activities related to professional education at Kien Giang Teacher Training College and proposes measures to improve effectiveness in the institution’s context. Using theoretical analysis, surveys, and in-depth interviews with administrators, lecturers, and students, the study finds that student affairs has supported discipline awareness, pedagogical conduct, and professional responsibility; however, it remains insufficiently systematic and not fully aligned with teacher professional standards. The article therefore recommends strengthening integration between student affairs and professional education to enhance teacher education quality.
