Abstract
Climate change and natural disasters pose increasingly serious challenges to sustainable development, national governance, and the maintenance of security and public order. Extreme weather events and large- scale disasters not only cause loss of life and damage to property and infrastructure but may also generate or intensify social, economic, and security problems. Under such circumstances, certain actors may exploit climate change and natural disasters to disseminate misinformation, incite public anxiety, seek unlawful profits, cause disorder, or otherwise complicate the security situation. This article proposes solutions to strengthen the role of the People’s Public Security Force in proactively preventing and countering attempts to exploit these issues to undermine security and public order in the current context.
Keywords: Climate change, countermeasures, People’s Public Security Force, prevention, security and public order.
