Abstract

Karl Marx’s theory of socio-economic formations constitutes an important theoretical foundation of historical materialism, explaining the laws governing the movement and development of society through the dialectical relationship among the productive forces, relations of production, and superstructure. As Vietnam continues to promote the Doi Moi process, develop a socialist-oriented market economy, and build a socialist rule-of-law state, the application of this theory is of both theoretical and practical significance. This article analyzes the theoretical foundations of the theory of socio-economic formations, clarifies the requirements for building a socialist rule-of- law state in Vietnam, and proposes several solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state governance in the new period.
