Abstract

This article analyzes Ho Chi Minh’s thought on self-study and lifelong learning, clarifying its theoretical and practical signi'cance for the innovation of teaching methods in higher education in contemporary Vietnam. In the context of digital transformation, international integration, and the demand for improving human resource quality, higher education needs to shift from knowledge transmission to promoting learners’ self-directed learning, critical thinking, and creativity. Based on an analysis of the core contents of Ho Chi Minh’s thought, the article evaluates the current state of teaching methods in Vietnamese universities, highlighting both positive changes and existing limitations related to students’ proactiveness and teaching organization. Accordingly, the article proposes several solutions to eKectively apply Ho Chi Minh’s thought in fostering a culture of self-study and lifelong learning in higher education.
