Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing students’ intention to use a learning management system (LMS) at a university in Ho Chi Minh City, based on data collected from 181 participants. A mixed-methods approach was employed: quantitative data were obtained through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM), while qualitative insights were gathered through in-depth interviews. The results indicate that social-psychological influences, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use have a positive and statistically significant impact on students’ intention to adopt the LMS. In contrast, support level, interaction, and feedback show no significant effect. Qualitative findings further reveal challenges related to notification functions, document storage, mobile interface limitations, and insufficient lecturer–student interaction. Based on these findings, the study recommends enhancing LMS features, improving interface design, and strengthening instructors’ guidance to optimize user experience and encourage LMS adoption in the context of higher education digital transformation.
