Abstract

In the context of the rapid development of artificial intelligence, ChatGPT has become a widely used tool to support student learning. However, the degree of dependence on this tool may significantly affect critical thinking, which is a core competence in police education and training. This article aims to analyze the influence of ChatGPT usage levels on the critical thinking of students at the People’s Police Academy. The research methods employed include document analysis, theoretical synthesis, and logical reasoning. The findings indicate that the reasonable use of ChatGPT can support the development of critical thinking, whereas excessive dependence may lead to a decline in students’ ability to analyze, evaluate, and reason independently. On that basis, the article proposes several solutions for the effective use of artificial intelligence tools in specialized higher education.
