Abstract
Mathematical communication competence is one of the core components of students’ mathematical competence under the 2018 General Education Curriculum at the primary level. Developing this competence not only helps students acquire knowledge actively but also develops logical thinking, con'dence, and social cooperation skills. This article examines the nature of mathematical communication competence in primary education and proposes measures to improve this competence through group discussion activities. The proposed measures include designing group tasks that require communication, establishing a discussion process using conversational prompt cards, diversifying modes of expression, and improving peer-assessment tools.
