Abstract
In higher education, lecturers’ competence is reflected in both their teaching performance and their research outcomes. This study identifies factors influencing the quality of lecturers’ scientific research and assesses their influence through a survey of 22 full-time lecturers at the Vietnam Court Academy. The findings indicate that research quality is influenced by four main groups of factors: research competence; awareness of and motivation for research; the adequacy of research conditions and supporting facilities; and institutional mechanisms and policies for managing and encouraging scientific research. Based on these findings, the study proposes measures to improve the quality of lecturers’ scientific research, thereby contributing to higher education innovation and judicial reform in the current context.
