Abstract

This article analyzes key challenges to national security amid the rapid digital transformation taking place in Viet Nam and globally. Comprehensive digitalization across economic, political, defense, and social security sectors has created significant opportunities for development but has also introduced emerging security risks, including cyberattacks, data breaches, information manipulation, disruption of essential services, and increased hostile activities in cyberspace. Based on this assessment, the paper proposes several strategic solutions to enhance national security protection in the digital transformation era: improving the legal and institutional framework for cybersecurity; investing in and modernizing digital infrastructure and security technologies; developing a highly qualified cybersecurity workforce; strengthening international cooperation; and raising digital safety awareness and skills across society.
