Abstract

Assessing swimming competence appropriate to the student population of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law is an issue that deserves focused research in the context of current reforms in physical education. This study employs specialized scientific research methods in the field of physical training and sports to investigate, analyze, and identify a suitable set of assessment criteria. The research results have determined seven scientifically grounded criteria that ensure reliability and practical applicability. These serve as an important basis for lecturers to use in evaluating students’ swimming competence, thereby contributing to improving the quality of swimming instruction and the overall effectiveness of physical education activities in non-sport-specialized higher education institutions.
