Abstract
This paper examines the role of the Literature curriculum in promoting moral and lifestyle education for lower secondary school students under Vietnam’s 2018 General Education Curriculum. It highlights the characteristics of Literature that support the integration of moral values, character development, and life skills into teaching and learning. The paper proposes three key principles: preserving the distinctive nature of the subject, selecting content appropriate to students’ developmental characteristics, and designing activities that enhance engagement and active participation. It also suggests ways to integrate moral and lifestyle education into reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities across Grades 6 to 9, thereby providing practical guidance for teachers and contributing to students’ holistic development.
