Abstract
This study assesses the current state of physical education at Vietnam Aviation Academy as a basis for proposing measures to improve its quality. A literature review, interviews, and statistical analysis were employed to examine the existing facilities, teaching staff, curriculum, and students’ extracurricular sports activities. The findings indicate that the facilities available for teaching and training are relatively diverse but meet only basic needs. Although the teaching staff possess strong professional qualifications, the number of full-time lecturers remains insufficient. The physical education curriculum is organized on an elective basis and generally corresponds to students’ learning needs. Students participate in physical activities primarily because of their interest in sports and desire to improve their health. Football and pickleball are the most frequently selected sports, while self-directed practice and participation in sports clubs are the preferred forms of engagement. These findings provide an empirical basis for proposing measures to improve facilities, enhance teaching quality, and promote extracurricular sports activities at Vietnam Aviation Academy.
