Abstract
The carbon market is an important instrument for controlling greenhouse gas emissions and achieving the Net Zero target. In Vietnam, as the carbon market is gradually being established, the need to develop a mechanism for handling legal violations in this market has become increasingly urgent. This article provides an overview of the carbon market and the main forms of legal violations; analyzes and evaluates current Vietnamese law on handling such violations; and proposes solutions to improve the legal framework in a more coherent, transparent, deterrent, and context-appropriate manner for the current stage of carbon market development.
Keywords: Carbon market, climate change, greenhouse gases, legal violations, Net Zero.
