Abstract

The legal status of shareholders in joint-stock companies is a key component of Vietnam’s enterprise law. Although substantial efforts have been made to refine the legal framework, practical enforcement in Vietnam continues to reveal significant shortcomings. Based on an assessment of the current legal landscape, this article proposes amendments to existing provisions concerning the establishment and termination of shareholder status, as well as shareholders’ rights and obligations in joint-stock companies.
