Abstract
Developing a growth mindset is essential for improving learning ability, resilience, and academic performance among students studying English for Science and Technology. This study uses re(ective writing as a tool to foster a growth mindset in this group of students. Based on Gibbs' Re(ective Cycle, the study examines how re(ective writing helps students shift their mindset and ultimately improve their learning outcomes. More speci'cally, by following Gibbs' structured stages, including description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion, and action plan, students are encouraged to view their academic struggles and setbacks as opportunities for growth rather than permanent obstacles. As a result, re(ective writing functions not only as an assessment method but also as a thinking practice that helps students reshape their beliefs about their own abilities, build a positive attitude towards learning, and develop self-regulation skills.
