Abstract

This study investigates the current application of Artifi cial Intelligence (AI) in supporting English language teaching and learning at the Faculty of English, Thuongmai University, within the context of AI's increasing integration into language education. Using quantitative methods, the research surveyed 185 students and 30 lecturers. Results indicate that AI is highly valued for its support in improving certain reading and writing skills and for the speed of instant feedback during searches. However, the survey also highlights signifi cant challenges, such as limited eff ectiveness in supporting overall English teaching and learning activities. The study emphasizes the need for implementing a balanced AI integration strategy, addressing technological and training barriers, to optimize its benefi ts within this specifi c university environment.
