Abstract

This study investigates the current status of students' out-of-class group learning skills in the General Psychology course at Hanoi Pedagogical University 2. Data from 218 students indicate that the measurement scale, comprising seven skill dimensions, demonstrates satisfactory reliability and validity. The results indicate that students possess a relatively good level of group learning skills. Specifically, task assignment, feedback, and collaboration skills are highly rated; conversely, self-directed learning, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills remain limited. Regarding influencing factors, the frequency of participation in group learning significantly enhances skill development, whereas gender and academic performance show no statistically significant differences. The study provides an empirical basis for improving the organization of group learning, contributing to enhanced instructional quality for preservice teachers.
