Abstract
Environmental courts and other specialized environmental adjudicatory bodies have increasingly been established to address complex environmental challenges. They strengthen environmental law enforcement by interpreting and applying legal rules, protecting environmental rights, and resolving technically complex disputes. Using analytical, synthetic, and comparative legal methods, this article examines the New Zealand Environment Court in connection with current resource management law reform. It then proposes recommendations on the feasibility of developing a specialized environmental court in Vietnam to improve dispute resolution and strengthen environmental justice.
