Abstract

This study examines the relationship between perceived social support (PSS) and burnout among primary school teachers, as well as the correlations between different sources of PSS and dimensions of burnout. Data were collected from 414 teachers working at public primary schools in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The findings reveal a moderate, statistically significant negative correlation between PSS and burnout (r = −0.410, p < 0.01). Furthermore, all three sources of PSS were negatively correlated with all three dimensions of burnout, with correlation coefficients ranging from −0.322 to −0.404. These findings provide additional empirical evidence concerning the relationship between social support and teacher burnout and may inform efforts to develop happy schools and promote primary school teachers’ occupational health and well-being.
