Abstract

This study examines the relationship between self-actualization and subjective well-being among adults participating in volunteer activities, with prosocial behavior serving as a mediating variable. The sample consisted of 504 participants residing in Ho Chi Minh City, who were assessed using three validated instruments: the Adult Prosocial Behavior Scale (APBS), the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and the Short Index of Self-Actualization (SISA). Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and mediation testing. The results demonstrated a positive association between self-actualization and subjective well-being, with prosocial behavior significantly mediating this relationship. These findings provide empirical support for humanistic and positive psychology perspectives within the context of volunteerism in Vietnam.
