Abstract

Music has long played a crucial role in human life. Beyond its entertainment function, music is also recognized as an effective educational tool. For adolescents aged 12–16—a period marked by complex psychological and physiological changes—learning a musical instrument can serve as a vital means of emotional balance and intellectual development in modern society. In recent years, many parents in Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province, have enrolled their children in guitar accompaniment classes at local music centres. However, learning guitar accompaniment among this age group has largely become a trend, with current teaching methods facing numerous challenges and showing limited effectiveness. This study aims to identify the advantages and difficulties in teaching guitar accompaniment to students aged 12–16 in Dong Hoi City and proposes appropriate solutions to enhance the quality of guitar instruction for this demographic.
