Abstract

In the context of sustainable development, the green academy model has attracted increasing attention from higher education institutions, in which students play a central role, serving both as beneficiaries of a green learning environment and as active agents directly involved in building and maintaining sustainable values. This article analyzes the role of students in the development of green academies and assesses the current state of student participation. It thereby identifies the achievements attained, the existing limitations, and the subjective as well as objective factors influencing this process. On that basis, the article proposes several solutions to attract and promote active, substantive, and sustainable student participation, thereby contributing to the realization of sustainable development goals in higher education in Vietnam.
