Abstract
A survey of 472 students from the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences and Humanities at Kien Giang University revealed various psychological difficulties, including academic pressure, anxiety, low self-confidence, and challenges in adapting to the university learning environment. These difficulties adversely affect students’ academic performance, communication skills, confidence, and professional competence development. Based on an analysis of the current situation, the study proposes several solutions: expanding psychological counseling services; adopting active, learner-centered teaching methods; strengthening students’ learning and emotional management skills; and enhancing coordination among lecturers, academic advisers, and families. These measures are expected to improve students’ psychological well-being and academic performance while supporting their holistic development to meet contemporary workforce demands.
